White Tigers. They are beautiful with stunning blue eyes with a amazing appearance. Many think they are the most beautiful animals on earth. Stunned by their beauty many people don’t realize what makes a White Tiger, white. White Tigers are purposely inbred in captivity to get more money from the public. This type of severe inbreeding that causes the White Tiger to get a white coat also gives many deformities.
The only way to get a tiger with a white coat is having bengal tigers inbred with their direct family. This causes the optic nerve to be wired to the wrong side of the brain. Because of that, all White Tigers are cross eyed even though it doesn’t show. The white coat on the White Tiger lets them stand out when they are trying to hunt. White Tigers also suffer from club feet, defective organs, and spinal deformities like scoliosis.
White Tigers bred in captivity are bred for a life in captivity. There are no White Tigers living in the wild. White Tigers cannot live in the the wild on their own because of their deformities. Sometimes at birth, White Tiger cubs die because some of their organs are not working properly. Because of the white coat, White Tigers stand out in the wild so they cannot hunt for food.
White Tigers are poached for their rare fur and bones. In China, tiger bones are used for medicinal purposes. Around the world tiger fur rugs and and coats are a sign of luxury. People kill them for money, but that is not fair because they have as much life as we do. We are on the top of the food chain, we are the biggest predators. We have to do something about it.
We should stop the breeding of White Tigers. We should stop making White Tigers. The species of the White Tiger is not supposed to be there. White Tigers are only there for money and entertainment. More people should be informed of the disadvantages of white tigers. They have genetic problems, they live in captivity for life, and they are killed because of their rareness.
