First Train Ride
Two days ago, I had my first train ride. I traveled with my dad to pick up my mom at her office. We got to the station and found a parking. We were walking to the place where the trains were kept. Halfway there, my dad turned around and said that he wasn't sure if he parked in the right place. He also said that we have to remember the number plate. Once we made sure that we memorized the number plate and the parking was right we walked back to the station. Again, halfway there, my dad said that we had to put in our parking space in. At this time we were in a hurry. We quickly asked a person and he showed us the way. We put in our number plate and rushed to the station.
We went to a booth to get our tickets. The guy there said the train would be there in five minutes. I stared at the man there, amazed that he didn't check our bags and ask us throw away out our liquids. I walked outside after making a shocking discovery. Train stations didn't check your luggage before we board the train! We waited outside for a few minutes and the train came. It was a Double Decker train. We sat at the top. At first I didn't notice anything, but when the train started moving, I made a horrifying discovery. A train didn't have seat belts! I asked why and my dad said that a train didn't suddenly stop. I just became even more worried. A train didn't have brakes! I immediately found an emergency brake at the end of the compartment. I started to quickly read the emergency exit instructions. As I was doing this, another train zoomed past us. I was totally freaked out! When I looked out of the window, I saw that the two train tracks were only a few feet apart. If that other train crashed it would surely knock down our train too. Finally, after twenty minutes the train slowly lost speed and stopped. As far as I know, I won't be going on a train any time soon!
