I couldn’t stop holding the wand. The wand was terribly powerful yet, so beautifully created. It was the Elder Wand. It was passed down through generations. The wand was only passed down by thievery and murder. All of it’s owners killed for the wand. It was so powerful. That is why I bought the wand at Diagon Alley in Universal Studios. My cousin did too. We both couldn’t stop staring at the wand. So many people had killed for this wand. And here it was, in my very hands. Death had created this wand out of an Elder tree. The color of the wand was a mixture of black and brown. This wand was just like any other wand. This wand though, held immense power. It was fashioned by Death itself.
The wand was amazing. I couldn’t stop thinking about what I could do with it. I could duel with my friends and I could be like a wizard. J.K. Rowling made the Wizarding World so believable. I want to experience being a Wizard like Harry Potter and his friends. I even dressed up like a Wizard on Halloween to have a little taste of it. Even my friends want to be Wizards. Sometimes, I feel like the Harry Potter series is the best thing that could happen in the world.
My friends were amazed to see my wand. They all wanted to play with my wand. We had pretend duels and imaginary battles. My friends and I transform into Wizards by waving our wands and shooting spells, charms, or curses, at each other. In a battle, normally when one of us defour opponent, someone else jumps in to continue the duel. I challenge my friends to duels to see how many spells they know and how closely they read the the books to know even more. I keep the Elder Wand in a case and under the showcase. The wand is very special to me. Everyone can see my wand. My wand is a little chipped because I play with it so much. Still, my wand is very powerful.
The wands’ ability to to transform me and my friends into Wizards, speaks to J.K. Rowling's ability to bring us into the Wizarding World. The style in which J.K. Rowling writes in makes us believe in the Wizarding World. She writes what most of us like. The main plot is very important too. If you think about it, the main plot starts from the very beginning. To kill Voldemort. Destroying Horcruxes. Every book has it’s own plot in the series. Everything adds adds up at the end. Even though giants and unicorns don’t exist, it is hard to believe that J.K. Rowling created the whole Wizarding World because you can imagine yourself being in Hogwarts and learning magic. You feel like you are experiencing the life of a Wizard.
J.K. Rowling’s writing and exploration of universal concepts is probably why the Harry Potter series is so popular. In the community, people read fantasy and fiction if not anything. J.K. Rowling went in the right direction by writing what we want. Harry Potter and the Wizarding World is so appealing because it is what we don’t have. We always want more things to read and dream about. Magic and Wizards. Witchcraft and Wizardry. We all know that we want this.
